Become a composting pro

Did you know that almost 35% of what ends up in the landfill is food scraps and food-soiled paper? It can be composted in your curbside yardwaste cart? Don’t waste this resource, make compost and use compost in your garden. Put it to a better use!

King County’s Solid Waste Division put together some great videos to help you become a composting pro, even if you’re starting from scratch. Learn what goes in and what stays out. Big tip: the pesky fruit stickers don’t go in the compost bin.

If you’re worried about odors and insects, this video is for you.

Let us know how the composting goes. Also, sign up for the pledge to Compost More. Waste Less. You receive a free toolkit and keep valuable resources out of the landfill.
